Remember your eye level and the horizon line are one and the same. Finding a horizon line and vanishing point in real life To identify the horizon line in an actual scene, mark it with your eye level. It is what allows us to create drawings, paintings, and photographs that have a three-dimensional look. Horizontal lines on other visible sides of this object also converge at vanishing points somewhere on the same horizon line. In a linear perspective drawing, the vanishing point is the spot on the horizon line to which the receding parallel lines diminish. In the foreground there are a couple of buildings, trees, and people along the slope. In the center of the background is the town surrounded by the river and hills. It is generally referred to as a measuring point even though it is referred to as a distance point here.
